Project Description

Orion partnered with the International Joint Commission (IJC) to develop and support web-based information systems that improve access to environmental and water resources data for one of the world's largest shared freshwater systems.

Established under the Boundary Waters Treaty of 1909, the IJC works on behalf of the governments of the United States and Canada to prevent and resolve disputes involving boundary waters. Its responsibilities expanded under the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, supporting the protection and management of the Great Lakes and other transboundary waters through scientific collaboration, environmental monitoring, and informed decision-making.

Orion's work supported the IJC's mission by delivering modern web technologies that improve access to environmental information, facilitate collaboration among U.S. and Canadian stakeholders, and provide reliable platforms for communicating water resource data.
